Okay, that last post was coming from a place of extreme fear and anger, so to balance things a bit, I’ll offer some words of wisdom that were offered to me.

While we were in the hospital waiting for my father-in-law to come out of surgery, I said to his wife that this must be a very stressful time for her. She told me, “No, it’s not so bad. With some things, like cancer, you don’t know if they’ll get better or worse. But here, we know the doctors say he will get better with time. So we just have to wait.”

He is, as I mentioned previously, expected to make a full recovery. We just have to wait. (And for people who don’t know if things will get better or worse, cherish the time you have, and hope for the best. I hope you have as much luck as we have.)
